Sherlock returns with three brand-new feature length episodes, promising laughter, tears, shocks, surprises and extraordinary cases. The eagerly anticipated fourth series, produced by Hartswood Films, begins with the nation’s favourite detective, the mercurial Sherlock Holmes, back once more on British soil, as Doctor Watson and his wife, Mary, prepare for their biggest ever challenge - becoming parents for the first time. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman reprise their iconic roles as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson in the hit drama written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and inspired by the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Customer Reviews

I'm a life long fan, and have really enjoyed the new Sherlock thus far, but found this last episode (The Six Thatchers) to be somewhat dull, and, frankly, predictable and obvious—I think I yawned when Sherlock showed up ahead of Mary.

There was also just too much emphasis on trying to develop the characters (Sherlock and Mycroft in particular) into extreme versions of their already delightfully quirky selves. It was basically a deep fried mars bar version of Sherlock, where someone replaced the mars bar with a stale sandwich.

Lost the tracks

This episode doesn't feel anything like the Sherlock I've enjoyed. It was too fast paced, had no focus, and seemed contrived. All the characters behave uncharacteristically. It seemed like the writers couldn't stick with a plot. Did not like it at all.

Starts Slow but Rushes Back In

Like many fans of the show, I was dissapointed by the first episdoe of the new series, as the plot was not very clever and it seemed to be all just a way to kill off a character; it was for all purposes a waste of an episode. But then in the second episode Sherlock came rushing back with the show we know and love, starring a zany criminal, a Sherlock we love and hate, and Watson once again battling his demons. It starts with a bang and ends with a twist; all in all the game is definilty back on.
