Description

Packed with exciting heroes, adventure and romance, The Musketeers is a contemporary take on the classic characters created by Alexandre Dumas. Set on the streets of 17th-century Paris, the series follows honorable Musketeers Athos, Aramis and Porthos. The growth of the Cardinal's Red Guards sees the Musketeers, now King Louis XIII's bodyguards, gradually marginalized and discredited. With the streets of Paris ruled by an iron fist, the future of the Musketeers is in serious peril as they fight for justice in a tough world.

Customer Reviews

Looking forward to more!

There have been many adaptions to Dumas' novels, but most leave character-depth shallow and full of gaps. This adaption is showing promise to giving these characters a greater depth and a more 'human' feel to them. Can't wait for more!

Realistic

Love the realistic look of the show. If you read the book then you will appreciate the episodes!!

All for one….

Almost every version - old or new - of the Musketeers on film, video, or digitized, is on my library, and there is something interesting about each one. Some are out-of-sight corny and so far-fetched that I would hesitate to put them in the category; some are comedic, some are serious, and some are cheesy. But I still watch them. (and yes, I read the book, but not in French.)

I'm just looking to be entertained, and I have been with this series, so far. The third episode, "Commodities," was especially good with its look at slave trading in that era and from Porthos's perspective. Good job.

Bonnaire's character was well written and well played.
