Explore the dark corners of the criminal-justice system in New York City as they swirl around a young Pakistani-American man who stands accused of the murder of a young woman on the Upper West Side in this riveting eight-part miniseries. Starring John Turturro as an embattled defense attorney and Riz Ahmed as his young client, the story centers on the brutal murder, the subsequent investigation and the prime suspect--a likeable, unassuming college kid who finds himself and his family thrown into the pit of NYC's criminal, legal, penal and judicial system. Meanwhile, his lawyer--an inveterate 'precinct trawler' who lucks into the biggest case of his life--becomes entangled in a web of complicated legal maneuverings by detectives and rival attorneys that undermine his ability to try the case.

An avid fan of his school's basketball team, Naz is thrilled when a player invites him to a party that night in Manhattan. When his friend Amir bails on driving him into the city, Naz decides to lift the keys to the taxi his father co-owns, taking the cab without telling his parents. Driving downtown, Naz is detoured when a young woman, Andrea, jumps into his cab and convinces Naz to take her on a trip around Manhattan--one that ends with the two of them in the woman's Upper West Side brownstone. But what started out as a fantasy tryst ends up being a nightmare for Naz, as he's arrested for murder shortly after leaving Andrea's place. Following an interrogation in Precinct 21 by homicide detective Dennis Box, Naz asks for a lawyer--and finds one when John Stone, a world-weary, eczema-afflicted defense attorney hustling small-time cases in the city, shows up at the precinct and offers Naz his services.||1:18:38||$3.99||View in iTunes|

Great drama with good twists and turns if you don't have HBO I recommend doing the free trial
Why the delay?
My son has HBO, so I watched this over at his house. If it had been offered on iTunes when it aired, I would have bought the durn thing as I have other series. I don’t understand not offering it as it airs and not making money when the opportunity is ripe. It’s not like I’m going to resubscribe to cable just to watch one program. This was a terrific series that I enjoyed immensely.
5 stars on all levels.
