The fun-loving Little Rascals of OUR GANG – Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Porky, Darla, Mickey, Waldo and Froggy – are one of the most beloved bunches of movie kids ever. Popularized on television for generations following their run in theatres, these rib-tickling short subjects showcased an ensemble of groundbreakingly diverse youngsters, many of whom were skilled at song as well as slapstick. In the first part of a four-part collection, you’ll find some of the earliest shorts from 1938 and 1939, including “The Little Ranger” where Alfalfa dreams he’s a cowboy; “Men in Fright” when the gang visits Darla in the hospital and has an unfortunate incident with some laughing gas; “Duel Personalities” where Alfalfa and Butch decide to duel with cap-pistols; “Clown Princes” when the entire gang puts on a circus performance in order to raise money for Porky’s family. With classic episodes such as “Alfalfa’s Aunt,” “Football Romeo” and more, see how it all began with these classic shorts.

Great entertainment - lousy previews
This looks like a great deal for some wonderful, family friendly entertainment, , and it APPEARS that the audio and video transfers to digital are clean and crisp. i say APPEARS because every 30 second preview gives you 20 seconds of the opening credits and only ten seconds of the actual movie, so it's tough to judge. It would be nice if the preview started somewhere in the middle of a scene or something. But hey - for ten bucks you get 13 episodes of fun and mischief with no foul language or questionable humor, unlike so much of today's "family / kids" TV shows. Thanks, I-tunes!
