    Pilot

Having grown tired and bored with life as a mild mannered accountant, Arthur has decided that it's time for a change. Determined to put all the numbers, deductions and IRA's behind him, he tells his boss, Mr. Fishlighter, that he's giving up accounting in order to pursue a higher calling - being a superhero! And ignoring Fishlighter's warnings about the fate of a previous employee who cashed it all in to be a crimefighter, Arthur dons his Mothman flying suit, one that makes him look a lot like a giant bunny, and heads off to pursue "the noblest profession." Meanwhile, just as Arthur is embarking on his new career, a superhero calling himself The Tick arrives in town to fight crime. At a bar where he is explaining his dream of living the hero's life, Arthur overhears a pair of evil commandos plotting to revive an old Soviet super weapon - code name Red Scare - to uses against the US Postal System. But when the Red Scare commandos try to teach him a lesson he will never forget, Arthur is rescued by The Tick and his superhero friends, Batmanuel and Captain Liberty. And with Arthur by their side, The Tick and company resolve to stop the Red Scare. Now working under The Tick's wing, Arthur quickly realizes just how ill prepared he is to make the leap from accounting professional to Mothman. Though Arthur wants to quit, The Tick asks him to interrogate a captured Red Scare operative. And upon learning that the weapon was originally programmed back in the 1970's to kill then-President Jimmy Carter, The Tick presses Arthur into service to save the ex-president and thwart the Red Scare before the completion of its decades old mission.

    The Terror

After being saved from a villainous, napalm-spewing cow, Arthur wakes to find himself in the company of a superhero known as The Tick. Impressed with Arthur's amateur crime library, The Tick wants him as part of a crime fighting team. However, noting the problems of a co-worker who traded in his day job for superhero stardom, Arthur isn't so sure he wants to. Meanwhile, with the help of fellow superheroes Batmanuel, The Cape and Captain Liberty, The Tick seeks an arch-villain to fight. Despite warnings from his colleagues, The Tick sets his sights on the biggest super-villain of them all, The Terror. After alerting Arthur to their mission, The Tick places a phone call to The Terror's mansion, goading the 112-year-old villain into a fight. However, it's Arthur who's in trouble when he learns that The Terror has identified him. But when The Terror falls victim to a heart attack, The Tick notes that any victory over evil is a good one, regardless of the circumstances. When Arthur's abandoning his post at the hospital allows The Terror to escape, Captain Liberty and Batmanuel arrive to help stop him. With Arthur distracted by Metcalfe, the co-worker whose shot at superhero stardom has left him incapacitated, The Terror abducts Batmanuel, leaving Captain Liberty and The Tick to bring the evil villain to justice. While saving Metcalfe from a potentially fatal attack, Arthur fails to stop The Terror. Yet, with The Tick's help, The Terror is defeated, boosting Arthur's confidence in his abilities as a crime-fighter, and giving The Tick added faith in his new partner as well.

    The License

When The Tick is cited for operating without a superhero license, Arthur offers to help him apply. But when he has no memory of his past or his real identity and the license is denied, Arthur must help The Tick uncover his true identity. Meanwhile, after seeing all the media coverage being given to The Weasel, Batmanuel decides to hire a PR firm. And tired of fending off romantic overtures sparked by her superhero costume, Captain Liberty is intrigued when a handsome stranger asks her out on a date when she's not in uniform. While everything from fingerprints to DNA fails to uncover anything, word from the police that a woman claiming to be his wife produces the first concrete lead in the search for The Tick's identity. And when the woman claims he is her missing husband, Ted Glick, Arthur accuses The Tick of deceiving him and then decides to return to life as an accountant. Meanwhile, Batmanuel warns Captain Liberty against keeping her superhero identity a secret from her new suitor. With the help of some family photos, the woman works to help The Tick remember his life as her husband. When Arthur realizes that her story is an elaborate ruse, he enlists Captain Liberty in an effort to save The Tick. And while he isn't any closer to knowing who he really is, The Tick happily returns to his life as Arthur's crime fighting partner, albeit with a fake license. Finally, as exposing her superhero status costs Captain Liberty her new boyfriend, Batmanuel's efforts at getting some good publicity backfire.

    Arthur Needs Space

While taking a break for coffee with The Tick, Arthur spots a high school classmate he once worshipped from afar. Though not wanting to be seen, Arthur is pleasantly surprised when Stacey Waxman says that she finds his new superhero status appealing. And when she suggests a dinner date, Arthur happily agrees. But when The Tick assumes he's invited, too, Arthur is forced to tell him otherwise. Meanwhile, Captain Liberty enlists Batmanuel's help to keep some nude photographs of her from appearing in a men's magazine. When Stacey is quick to reveal just how attracted she is to his superhero garb, a goodnight kiss makes Arthur realize that he just might have a chance to spend the night with her. But Arthur's dream date is brought to a grinding halt when The Tick arrives at home. Meanwhile, Batmanuel's ill-timed bathroom break keeps Captain Liberty from stopping the offending magazines in their tracks. But when her military colleagues call Captain Liberty to answer for the photos, it's Batmanuel who steps in to defend her. In the wake of his aborted first date with Stacey, Arthur does his best to make The Tick understand that he interfered. Running into Stacey at the laundromat, Arthur worries that, without his uniform, she won't find him attractive. When Stacey claims that the uniform isn't all she's interested in, Arthur's hopes for romance are revived. Yet, when a documentary on the sex lives of insects has The Tick worried about Stacey's motives, another confrontation leaves Arthur without a date once again. Finally, with the military's charges against her dropped, Captain Liberty returns to her life as a superhero.

    Couples

After they jump in to help capture a fleeing criminal, The Tick and Arthur meet Fiery Blaze and his loyal sidekick Friendly Fire. At Blaze's request, The Tick agrees to get the two teams together over dinner. And while The Tick would like to adopt more of the pyrotechnic pair's teamwork, including a secret handshake, Arthur isn't so sure. Meanwhile, when the abundance of superhero teams leaves her feeling lonely, Captain Liberty decides to get a dog. But when she cannot convince a pet store owner to sell her the one she really wants, she turns to Batmanuel for help. Over Arthur's objections, he and The Tick arrive for dinner with Fiery Blaze and Friendly Fire. Blaze's thinly veiled contempt for his sidekick makes Arthur uncomfortable and he urges Friendly Fire speak up to make and his displeasure known. However, when Friendly Fire takes the advice, he ends up moving in with The Tick and Arthur. Meanwhile, though Batmanuel agrees to help get Captain Liberty a purebred dog, he returns with a mutt. When Friendly Fire's presence begins to wear on them both, The Tick insists that it is Arthur's job to get rid of him. But when Friendly Fire asks him to join a group of disgruntled sidekicks, Arthur refuses to become just another second banana who hates his superhero. Tracking him down on patrol, Arthur makes it clear just how much he values his partnership with The Tick. And when he finds that his superhero is nothing without him, Friendly Fire returns to Fiery Blaze, too. Finally, after Captain Liberty asks Batmanuel to help rein in her unruly dog, a hand grenade takes care of the pup's feisty personality.
