Violence is fine; Nudity Makes You Clutch Your Pearls?
This is a perfectly fine take on the Transporter series. I think Vance is fine, although Statham is basically designed for this part from the atomic structure up. I wasn’t too thrilled with how Frank now has a “team”, but understand it being a requirement of television vs. movies.
What I find absolutely hysterical in some of these reviews is how they have to clutch their pearls and get out the fainting couch because it’s, god forbid, the international version and shows some boobs. Oh my, Mrs. Grundy, call the Vice Squad! People getting shot, punched, knifed, pushed off high platforms, blown up . . . all that is fine, but show a young woman’s boobies and it’s time to berate iTunes to the skies? You people really need to get a grip. If you think it’s fine for your kids and grandkids to see Frank shooting people, blowing them up, driving them off the road, running them over, hitting them with hockey sticks, etc. (all of which you better expect in a Transporter franchise item), but not a little nudity, your priorities are seriously twisted. Consider some therapy.
This shows should not be rated TV 14 because it has nudity and profanity and not just a little bit.
Not the movies, but great in its own way
The show does a great job of staying true to the spirit of the movie series. Of course it's going to be different but it's still as fun and fast paced. Chris Vance does a great job as Frank and it's cool to see him as a leading man after all the supporting parts he's played in other shows. The action is entertaining and there's a lot of humor in it too. Definitely a fun Saturday night show.
