The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Season 1TV-14

Open iTunes to preview or buy TV shows.

The hair is big, the drama is bigger. Building on the record-breaking success of the Real Housewives franchise, Bravo heads to the Garden State for its newest installment, The Real Housewives of New Jersey. The series follows five of the most affluent Jersey Girls as they live lavish lifestyles and deal with all the drama that money can buy. For the first time in franchise history, the ladies are more than just friends — joining the cast are two sisters, who are married to two brothers — and one sister-in-law — bringing a whole new level of familial drama to the table. While family remains a priority for each of these women, their shopping, decorating, dating and even fighting are all over-the-top

Did I just pay for something that was free?

I downloaded the Season Preview for free. I knew I was going to be hooked, so this week I decided to download "Thicker Than Water" for $1.99. I was so upset when I realized that the Season Preview and the first episode were identical! What a waste of memory and cash!

The Surreal Housewives of New Jersey (One assumes this show is a wry, ironic comedy.) This bizarre show about totally self-obsessed, narcissistic women – with their mega-mansions, palatial furnishings and luxury vehicles – who are overindulged, over-pampered, overdressed, over-domiciled, and unconscionably energy and resource over-consumptive, would be a tragedy if the women were not portrayed as so hopelessly clueless and farcically hilarious. Any resemblance of these women to “real” New Jersey housewives is purely imaginary.

To everyone who thinks the first two episodes are the same....

"Season Preview" and "Thicker Than Water" are not the same episode. Not only is one longer than the other which you could clearly see by looking at the episodes, but I got the season preview here and then watched Thicker Than Water online, and Thicker Than Water has a lot more stuff than the Season Preview. The first 5 minutes are exactly the same, but they're different beyond that, unless there's some sort of iTunes glitch I'm missing.
