Top Chef: Be #1

This show is great. Because its from the same people that made Project Runway, the show is set up almost identically. There are the same number of people, and one by one they get voted off based on the creations that they have made. There are themes to their food, such as cakes or international, and they not only have to make it sweet, but also make it candy for the eyes.

Don't review trailers... just makes you look like a fool. It says, quite clearly, "Top Chef TRAILER". It's just like with the movies, if it's a 'trailer' it's not the movie. Either way, the first episode is wonderful. You get a good impression of what the competition is like from the first two challenges. The show is interesting, amusing at the very least. Don't really expect to learn much about cooking (as there are no recipes and there is no explanation as to how dishes are prepared). However, look for explosive interactions between what is typically viewed to be a 'blazing fire' personality group. Emotions are promised to run high, and you can see that just from the group's interaction with Ken. Watch it for the drama, not the intellect. Watch it for a relaxing show, not in place of discovery channel.

Can I get fries with that?

Aside from making me very hungry, I have to say that I like this show based on the free episode (thanks iTunes). I´m looking forward to buying the rest when they come along. If you are culinary impaired or just aren´t into the cooking scene, you really shouldn´t judge this show, it´s not fair to the rest of us who actually find this show interesting. The contestants all have their own personalties and styles and I look forward to finding out more about them. The show has a nice flow so don´t paty attention to all of the posts here from people who haven´t even watched the show yet feel compelled to leave useless reviews.
