Description

The second season has been revamped with a brand-new look with new producers, the Emmy-nominated Magical Elves (Project Runway, Top Chef), and a new host, celebrated fashion model and design aficionado India Hicks. World-renowned designer Todd Oldham returns, this time as the contestants' mentor. Jonathan Adler will reprise his role as head judge along with Margaret Russell, Editor In Chief of Elle Decor magazine, and interior designer Kelly Wearstler as series judges. In the second season of the interior design competition, the drama is more intense and the stakes are raised even higher as the contestants are critiqued by some of the most influential names in the design industry. With challenges ranging from redesigning a fallout shelter to competing in a full-on design triathlon, eccentric personalities and creative egos combine to fuel the competition.

Much better than Season 1

I'm not sure why some people like Season 1 better - last season just seemed like a wannabe Top Chef and Project Runway. This season the talent pool is higher. I'm not surprised they nixed "See ya later decorator" either - it was HIGHLY criticized by most fans. Having India explain (in her gorgeous accent) the challenges was also a smart idea since Todd Oldham really struggled last time around. Since Todd is still acting as the Tim Gunn role on the show, I don't feel like he has been demoted in any way. Looking forward to this season!!

so-so season premiere

The season premiere had a number of good elements to it, on the technical side mostly. India Hicks was no fun as a host -- any one of the other judges would've made a better host. I loved one of the contestants, though -- Wisit, the fashion-designer-slash-opera-singer who somehow seems to be the only interesting enough person on the line-up. Go Wisit!

missing "see ya later, decorator..."

a good show - there was talk there wouldn't even be a second season, so i was glad to see it... still some of the warmth and quirkiness was missing - more Jonathan Adler, Less India Hicks...
