Alex Guarnaschelli and Gabe Bertaccini introduce the chefs to authentic Italian nonnas, who showcase how to make handmade pasta from scratch. Tempers flare during a team-based pasta challenge, and the losing team must vote to send home one of their own.

The chefs travel to a Tuscan vineyard where judges Alex Guarnaschelli and Gabe Bertaccini challenge them to create a three-course menu incorporating truffles and wine pairings. Alliances form, personalities grate, and one more chef must leave the villa.

Two team captains join Alex Guarnaschelli and Gabe Bertaccini on a visit to a thousand-year-old cheese cave. After an invaluable cheese tasting, the two leaders must purchase their main ingredients BEFORE they are given the details of the challenge.

Hosts Alex Guarnaschelli and Gabe Bertaccini inform the four remaining chefs that not one, but two of them will be going home after a wild boar challenge. Only two chefs will make it to the finale and battle it out for the life-changing grand prize.
