Not for the easily offended religious types...

Hawking is a scientist. What did you expect, Christians? Everyone knows he's an atheist. People get so easily offended when atheists voice their opinion. In the first episode, Stephen Hawking touches on the possibility of God. He doesn't think the God concept fits reality because time is finite. Time had a beginning, and so there was no before the big bang because time or space didn't exist. I'm an atheist, but I don't agree with Hawking's assertion that there was nothing before the big bang. We have no way of knowing that, and besides, the Christian concept of God is supposed to be outside time. So Stephen Hawking's argument doesn't work anyway. Relax, everybody. This is an excellent show. Both episodes are phenomenal! Hawking couldn't have been more respectable. It's not like he kicked off the show by burning a Bible and sacrificing a child at the altar of atheism. If you are incapable of entertaining thoughts you don't already possess, science probably isn't the best subject for you. Maybe stick with religion instead.

Mind blowing!

The mere though of thinking that, despite the huge universe that we live on has beginning and ending, the conception of nothing throughout the eternity and our sole existence doesn't reconcile itself. As Hawking said that nothing happen out of the blue and there is always a positive and a negative energy to balance itself, nothing itself just happen! As much as I think of this matter, In my must humble understanding of things, the search, for me, lives on! The Creator is out there! Thanks to Discovery for such an interesting piece of work and thanks for Stephen Hawking to bring the subject once more and give a different perspective of our believes and our reality.

Well done.

Thank you professor Hawking for your courage and insight. The first episode was beautiful.
