Jack learns that being a warrior means you must always fight, even when you’re turned into a chicken by a crazed wizard. But that is the least of his worries, as Aku leads our hero to a graveyard where an evil spirit takes over his sword, an Ancient Master’s son tells Jack of a portal home – but with a terrible twist, and the Birth of Evil spreads across the earth.

What Great Television

Birth of Evil, Parts 1 & 2 (XXXVII & XXXVIII) stopped me in my tracks one night while flipping channels. Forty-five minutes of pure animated cinema played out on the screen. A story told almost entirely without dialogue, just pictures and music, Birth of Evil has got to be one of the most underrated pieces of fiction to hit the screen. Spend the four bucks and get these two episodes, at least. They may lead you to take a chance on the rest of the show, which is beautifully drawn and well-told.

When Jack Became a Masterpiece

Before this season there were good episodes but this is where it starts to become perfect.
