Reseña de álbum

Two complete radio broadcasts from when the Herman Herd had Flip Phillips, Bill Harris, Red Norvo, and Shorty Rogers all in the lineup. The first show comes from the Casino Gardens in Los Angeles and catches the First Herd in rare form on "Northwest Passage," "Apple Honey," and "The Man I Love." The second and third broadcasts are taken from Chicago's Aragon Ballroom and find the band romping on "Lover" and Sonny Berman's "They Went That Away." Transfers are decent and the liner notes are informative. One of Woody's best bands, caught in full flight.
