Reseña de álbum

This was Tommy Olivencia's final Inca release, the one that would give way to his decade-long relationship with TH-Records. This effort offers plenty of excitement, thanks mostly to the band's forceful rhythm section (pianists Ray Coen and Frank Revilla, bass player Tomás Rivera, conga player David "Cortijito" Rosario, bongo player Julio Castro, and the spectacular Endel Dueño on timbales), and tunes like "La Rumba Sin Evelio" and "Flores Para Mis Enemigos" (arranged by trumpetman Carmelo Rivera) are primary examples of that statement. Simón Pérez is one of the most talented (and underrated) soneros of his time. Paquito Guzmán shows his seasoned style in "El Preso" (composed by Puerto Rican folklore legend Flor Meléndez Ramos "Ramito"). An exciting end of a great chapter in this first-rate organization. ~ José A. Estévez, Jr., Rovi
