EDITORS’ NOTES

Mzansi’s favourite girl rockers take charge of the unknown and the mysterious on their fourth LP, Queen van die Toorbos (Queen of the Magic Forest). Revelling in Adèle Fouché’s resonant vocals, its high-spirited, indie-folk-tinged first single “Vir Altyd” celebrates where the SAMA-nominated trio are at this stage on their musical journey. In addition to expressive new Afrikaans tracks written by Fouché, the album also contains modern pop-rock covers of songs that helped shape them as band—including Bruce Springsteen’s classic rock ballad, “I’m on Fire”.
