A melodic, classicist’s take on rock ’n’ roll has proved successful for Bryan Adams several times since his 1980 debut and he returns to the well on his 13th studio album. Any threat of that approach becoming stale is seen off by producer Jeff Lynne who energizes everything here with his sumptuous pop sheen–whether it’s the rockabilly of “You Belong To Me”, blue-collar ballad “We Did It All” or the gliding MOR of “Brand New Day”.
