Uncertainty Is Bliss

Uncertainty Is Bliss

On their second album, German psych trio Black Salvation conjure a hallucinatory mist of bleary, hypnotic rock songs. The eerie jangle of opener “In a Casket’s Ride” dissolves into the woozy clang of “Floating Torpid” and the churning swirl of “Breathing Hands” as vocalist/guitarist Paul Schlesier delivers a brooding series of mystic incantations. Equal parts murky and haunting, tracks like the spooky “Leair”, kaleidoscopic power jam “A Direction Is Futile” and funereal closer “Getting Slowly Lost” offer howling, hazy transcendence.
