The application is available for anyone to download, but you have to be a Discovery member with at least one active Discovery product and must register on the Discovery website (www.discovery.co.za) before you can log in on the Discovery app. You will use the same username and password for the app as for the Discovery website.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. This App reads / writes data from Apple’s Health App with your permission. Earn Vitality points for your workouts from the Health App.

Good app with many short comings
This app is very useful and gives me access to the information I'm looking for but I'd like to see improvement in the following areas:
1. Load speed.
I'm not sure if this is your services that are taking that long or some issue when displaying the information but long page loads are very frustrating.
2. Lack of consistent login access
I understand that placing a password prompt at certain places to allow the user to access basic information without logging in may sound useful, but the reality is that I'm being prompted when I assume I've been logged in. It just leaves me feeling frustrated. Especially when I had logged in earlier. Either log me out entirely and authenticate me again, or don't log me out.
3. Lack of integration with Password managers and no biometric login options
The prompt the app gives for my password does not allow for autofilling of my password from a manger like LastLass. This is incredibly frustrating as I am forced to either remember an incredibly long complex password or copy and paste it which is quite insecure.
I also cannot use my fingerprint scanner to authenticate myself. This would make the whole process much easier.
I'm looking to join your banking offering in the months to come but I'm second thinking it purely because of how frustrating your app is to use.

Not a complete package
The app works OK. The functionality is limited, but seems to serve it's intended purpose. However, the single biggest failure & has been the case from inception, is that backend server support is almost non existent. The backend server's seem to run out of capacity often. The information you see in the app is retrieved from these servers which don't seem to be able to cope with the number of users. So, you are unable to view your data (often) which makes the app useless. It is very frustrating. Considering the latest reported profits, one can only wonder why they won't resolve this.
It is also very frustrating when they change the layout of the screen as they have just done. I do not find it intuitive at all. There should be an option to hide products that are not relavant to me. I use to the app to view MY info and not the advertising.
The problem with logging in is very painful. When you switch to the app, the last screen data is visible. However, the moment you tap on any link, it forces you to login again if your session has expired. The data was already visible so if security is the issue why not force the login immediately? Further, if the session has expired, why display the last screen data at all?
They also seem to have changed the authentication mechanism. Now seems to get stuck in a loop of repeated login prompts. Again this seems to be associated with a backend sever that's not responding. Very frustrating.
Worst application ever
I am currently in my second year of App Dev, and even I can create a better application than this;
First and foremost, I attempted to change my PASSPORT number to my ID NUMBER, and it gave me an error, I THEN attempted to contact support, which redirected me to my email application, I hastily sent a support request, but I noticed it was sent to “talksure” not sure if they were affiliated with discovery but nonetheless I sent it. I received a confirmation email saying that they would get back to me in 24 hours... 4 days later I get an email back from this so called “talksure” informing me that I had sent my request to the WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS..... Even though I followed all the prompts from the app.. This is possibly the worst application I have ever had the pleasure of using and discovery devs should be working a lot harder.
Fast forward to today and I try to log on, and the app loads for 5 minutes, is your database faulty? Is the cloud you’re working with defective? Judging by the previous ratings, you people need some serious changes, and the fact that the dev’s work for discovery must mean that they make quite abit of money, thus the amount discovery must’ve invested in this application truly does not prove up to standards ..
