Latest Sightings is an app where visitors to the app's supported nature safari parks (view list of parks at end of description) can share their wildlife sightings, in realtime, with other visitors in the game reserve and also to users world wide.
The app is a service to visitors on safari. This utility app notifies you of sightings in your area, so that you can go and check them out for yourself in real life.
You never have to drive around the whole day seeing nothing, you can now see the magnificent big 5, such as the lion and leopard, everyday on your safari.
This is also the perfect app for wildlife lovers. Latest Sightings allows users to get their daily dose of nature, whether they are in the game park or not.

Brilliant app. A must for every visitor
Really enjoyed using this app on our visit to Kruger. Regular updates by visitors makes it a must for all visitors. Let’s you know which areas to visit for viewing different animals. Admin is active and posts regular sightings. Only hiccup is the limited cell coverage within the park which is due to the cell providers.
Lots of Great improvement.
This app has been amazing for the fact that with people visiting the Kruger National Park, Pilansberg and other safari areas around the world, it has helped them see lots of wildlife. It has become easier for them to share their sightings.
The Kruger Sightings app is a must have when visiting a nature reserve or safari area. By using the app, you become a "Citizen Scientist".
Watch out for when real-time notifications are soon to be implemented.
Ok, but limited
Kruger does not promote any apps, hence the success of this app depends on how many people at any given time stumble accross this and actually populate the database. Great app IF you have mobile reception everywhere, which you don't. Actually very functional, except that you cannot add animals not in the pre populated list-rhino for instance is missing. Then you also need to manually upload posts sent at times when you did not have 3G, as opposed to the app sending these as soon as you have 3G reception.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
