Voting and Karma:

Instead of likes and hearts, Reddit’s social media network runs on upvotes or downvotes. Voting on posts and comments increase or decrease the creator’s karma, and helps popular and relevant posts rise to the top, while filtering out low-quality or irrelevant posts.

While karma doesn't directly impact your ability to use Reddit, more karma can increase posts’ visibility and help you get noticed. Some communities require karma to post or comment, which helps maintain content quality and community standards.

Reddit Premium:

Purchase Reddit Premium to enjoy an ads-free experience and access to premium avatar gear, r/lounge, custom app icons, and more.

Payment will be charged on a recurring monthly or annual basis to your Apple account. Your monthly or annual Premium subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before your subscription ends. Cancel anytime in your device’s Account Settings. No partial refunds.

Editors’ Notes

Whether you love movies, kittens, science, kittens, politics, or kittens, Reddit’s official app puts all this (plus kittens) at your fingertips. With a colorful and intuitive layout, it’s easy to browse and post to “the front page of the internet” across thousands of subreddits that cater to virtually every area of interest. Search for communities that line up with your hobbies; filter posts by posting time, hotness, and more; and get a breakdown of your own Redditing history to see where you reaped all that sweet, sweet karma. (Pro tip: You can’t go wrong with pictures of—you guessed it—kittens.)

This app

Loving the app, but for some reason it wouldn’t let me comment on a different post after having previously commended a few minutes back on a different one, it said something along the lines of “you’re doing this too many times” .. my role on reddit is to educate and help so I would like to be able to comment as much as I please :) . Hopefully it was just a glitch or a mistake and I’ll be able to comment freely without worry :)

Reddit is killing 3rd party apps

Reddit is introducing changes to their API which would make it impossible for 3rd party apps such as Apollo or RIS to be able to continue. This is a travesty as many of these apps had accessibility features, such as screen readers, and moderation/power user tools to better leverage Reddit. The official app lacks these features and while that have promised to fulfil features in the past they’ve often not followed up on feature releases. In essence Reddit is planning on making 3rd party apps non-viable through an absurdly expensive API. This means that everyone will be forced to use the default app, which is clunky, has forced ads disguised as posts and is completely inaccessible for blind people. This is unfair and unjust and I urge you all to delete this app and stop supporting Reddit until they stop letting greed control the business.
