The Silent Age takes you on an adventurous journey into a dystopian future where mankind has gone extinct!

Travel through time between the iconic 70's and a desolate present day haunted by silence.

The Silent Age is an atmospheric point-and-click adventure game with stylized visuals and an eerie soundtrack that will keep you in suspense as you solve mind-bending puzzles.

With an interface specifically designed for touch devices, you'll flow through the story without hiccups and frustrations. Sit back, plug in your headphones, and enjoy the adventure.

Background Story -------------------------------------------------

It’s 1972. Love is free. Flipflops, English leather and bandanas are the height of fashion. Meanwhile the Cold War is more than lukewarm and a real one is going on overseas. Movements are happening. Environmentalists, the female liberties movement, and on the dance floors an entirely different kind of movement is overtaking the underground clubs. The winds of change are certainly blowing over the country.

Somewhere in the big city, in a tall, faceless government building someone left a window open. All the winds of change are doing here is blowing leaves all over Joe’s newly-swept floor. He’s been there for two years now. Working a dead-end attendant job making sure the building is as spotless as the suits walking the halls. It’s been like this for years, going from one soul-devouring job to the next.

Our protagonist is Joe in more than just name. He is quite literally Joe Average. Average height, average weight, average IQ. In fact, the only thing remotely remarkable about him is exactly how much he conforms to the median of the hypothetical everyman, and up until this point, Joe’s life hasn't exactly been biography material.

This is all about to change...

SO GOOD THAT ONLY CAPS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS ARE WORTHY OF THIS GAME!!! I love Joe’s comical gifts, his one-liners got me through the sometimes depressing ambience of the story… I love that he’s no super hero but a normal guy with a kind enough heart to take the world on his shoulders, I love the silver lining of humanity in a cold, dark, almost certain doomed future… I love the references to pandemic and people within it which ring even truer these days, I love the references to Cold War, to Vietnam war, and in fact the bleak reality of how stupid it is to sacrifice people for abstracts, or worse just for a bigger wallet, yet we still do it even in the middle of a pandemic… I love the beautifully designed structure of it all, I love the style of it, and when the credits were rolling I felt like a thousand emotions all tangled into something I could not explain… I’m struck, saddened, moved and relieved all at the same time. Just to hold on to that feeling, perhaps I should start revising all the movies it reminded me (for no apparent reasons other than sentimental ones…), to mention a few: The Shape of Water, The Budapest Hotel, Sunshine by István Szabó, and the Stephen Chow classic A Chinese Odyssey…

Best game ever

I love this game. I couldn’t wait till I could go and buy a gift card and buy the second part. It was a very interesting game but too short. I finished the first part in a day and when I got the second I finished that in two days. Please make “the silent age 2”. Or a part 3. As for you people who said it’s too good to be free. The first part was free because they wanted you to see if you liked it or not. If you liked it like I did you would buy part 2. I also loved the animation for it. There’s not many games with good animation like this one. And again please make part 3. And for you people who are wondering if It’s worth buying. It definitely is

Absolutely outstanding!

I know I’m reviewing a bit late, but I just couldn’t resist telling people who come to this app to know that this game is amazing! It’s story is so simple yet so complex in an interesting way further on. I won’t be saying any spoilers here but I just want to say that buying chapter 2 is worth every cent! If you don’t, you are missing out, chapter 2 is 2 times better than the 1st, diving into it myself I loved getting to play the rest of the game since I really wanted it after beating the first chapter. Anybody coming to this game for the first time, it’s well worth it!!!
